Why Joseph Didn’t Need the Law

Joseph practiced the presence of God without the Ten Commandments.
Before there was a law, there was a relationship.
Before God ever said, “Do not commit adultery,” Joseph was already living as though God were standing beside him.
His words say everything:
Genesis 39:9
No tablets.
No commands.
Just awareness — God is with me.
Practicing God’s presence doesn’t mean feeling something.
It means remembering Someone.
And that remembrance shaped Joseph’s decisions long before Sinai ever existed.
Holiness wasn’t a rule he followed.
It was a Person he honored.
When you realize God is with you — there with you — you stop asking, “How close can I get to sin without falling?”
You start asking, “Why would I walk away from the One who has never left me?”
Holiness grows best where awareness of God becomes the atmosphere of your heart.
