He Became What We Were

Many believers think of the cross as forgiveness alone—God overlooking what we did wrong.
But it is something far deeper.
2 Corinthians 5:21
The Greek phrase (hamartian epoiēsen) ἁμαρτίαν ἐποίησεν — “He made Him to be sin” carries a shocking meaning:
Jesus didn’t just carry sin…
He became the offering for sin itself.
Everything that separated you from God was placed on Him.
Everything that delighted God was placed on you.
This isn’t divine bookkeeping.
It’s divine exchange.
He stood where you were so you could stand where He is.
The cross didn’t balance the scales—it replaced your life with His.
