The God Who Goes Ahead

We often thank God for the trouble He brings us out of. But we rarely thank Him for the trouble He kept us from entering in the first place.
There is a specific aspect of God’s nature that is purely proactive. He doesn't just walk beside you; He walks ahead of you.
The word used here for "mercy" is (Hesed) חֶסֶד — meaning "grace" or "covenant love." The God of your Hesed goes before you to make the crooked places straight.
He prepares the way. He smooths out the path before your foot ever touches the ground. You might think you were just "lucky" that a meeting went well, or that you missed a traffic accident, or that a diagnosis came back clear.
That wasn't luck. That was the God of Grace arriving in your future before you did, rearranging the furniture of time and circumstance to favor you.
Even when we don't deserve it, He leads us. He is the God who teaches us to profit and leads us in the way we should go.
You are not walking into a random future; you are walking into a prepared place.
