We often measure success by the numbers on a screen or the hours spent at a desk. We watch the charts day and night until our eyes swell from the strain. We assume that exhaustion is the price of prosperity.

But God defines success differently. When God spoke to Joshua, He did not give him a strategy for warfare or a manual on manual labor. He gave him a mandate for the Word.

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:8

Good success does not pull you away from your family. It does not rob you of your rest or your ability to serve. True prosperity means money works for you; you do not work for money. It is a state where your soul remains at peace even while your hands are busy. If your achievements cost you your peace or your presence at home, it is not the success God promised.

The goal is not to be occupied with the struggle, but to be occupied with the Word.
