We often measure success by the numbers on a screen or the hours spent at a desk. We watch the charts day and night until our eyes swell from the strain. We assume that exhaustion is the price of prosperity.

God defines success differently. When God spoke to Joshua, He gave him a mandate for the Word rather than a warfare strategy or a labor manual. God said:

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:8

Good success does not pull you away from your family or rob you of your rest. True prosperity means money works for you; you do not work for money. Your soul remains at peace even while your hands are busy. If your achievements cost you your peace or your presence at home, it is not the success God promised.

Do not remain occupied with the struggle. Be occupied with the Word.
