Stop Looking for the Map—Stay Close to the Guide

We spend years trying to “find our calling”—as though purpose were a hidden treasure buried beneath career choices or personality tests.
But let me tell you this my friend:
Purpose is not a plan. Purpose is a Person.
A man without God is like a clock without its mainspring. Beautiful, well-designed, full of potential—but lifeless. All the intricate gears of your talents, intellect, dreams, even weaknesses… none of them turn until the mainspring engages.
Jesus said it bluntly:
“I am the vine; you are the branches… Without Me, you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)
Branches don’t strain to bear fruit.
They don’t attend “how to fruit more” workshops.
They just stay connected.
We call this: abiding.
Not striving.
Not performing.
Not trying to “feel spiritual.”
Just staying with Him. Staying open. Staying near.
And when you do, His life flows. His wisdom flows. His peace flows.
Purpose stops being a destination you chase and becomes a life that flows out of you.
Only one thing is truly needful:
Stay connected to the Vine, and fruit happens.
Disconnect, and you’re just a decorative branch—pretty, but powerless.
You were not made to be decorative.
You were made to be alive.
