We fear death because we view it as an end. We picture a cold room, a stopped heart, and the loss of consciousness. But the Bible uses a completely different image. It compares our physical body to a temporary tent.

"For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." 2 Corinthians 5:1 (NKJV)

When a believer's heart stops beating, they do not cease to exist. They do not fall into a dark void. They simply step out of the tent.

You are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body. The body is just the temporary shelter you use while on earth. The moment you leave it, you are instantly present with the Lord. You leave behind the limitations, the pain, and the decay of the physical world, entering into perfect peace and joy.

Physical death is not the destruction of the house; it is just the resident moving to a better address.
