Painful Effort Cannot Add to God’s Blessing

Working harder doesn’t always produce more fruit.
Sometimes it only produces more exhaustion.
The disciples fished all night.
They used experience, skill, and discipline.
They caught nothing.
Scripture is honest about effort without favor.
Sorrow here speaks of painful toil—effort that drains rather than fills.
God never asked them to quit fishing.
He simply asked them to change where they were casting from.
Blessing doesn’t flow from striving.
It flows from alignment.
Grace doesn’t make work lazy.
It makes work fruitful.
You can do the right thing in the wrong posture.
And you can do ordinary things from a place of favor.
What drains you may not be work—it may be working without grace.
