Imagine driving on a long road trip in an unfamiliar country. You are tired, your muscles are tense, and you are looking for your hotel. You keep checking your GPS, worried that you missed a turn. The stress levels in your body rise. Then, you look up and realize the hotel is right next to you. You are already parked in the driveway. You have arrived.

Immediately, the tension leaves your body. You stop searching. You turn off the engine and step out of the car. You walk in peace because the journey is over.

Many Christians live their lives looking for a holiness they think is far away. They strive, they worry, and they try to perform to reach a state of acceptance. They treat holiness as a distant destination. But the Bible says you have already arrived.

"As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him."Colossians 2:6 (NKJV)

Under the New Covenant, you do not walk toward holiness to obtain it. You walk out of the holiness that Jesus has already given you. The blood of the cross made you complete. You are not trying to become righteous; you have been declared righteous.

When you realize you have arrived at the destination of righteousness, the striving stops. You stop releasing stress hormones trying to find what you already possess. You can walk in peace because your position is secure. Your daily life becomes an expression of your completed status in Christ.

You find rest when you realize you are already where you were trying to go.
