Why You Need a Vision

We are often told that faith is the currency of heaven. And it is. But you cannot spend currency if you don't know what you are buying.
Hebrews 11:1 gives us the architecture of belief: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for...”
Faith is the substance. Hope is the target. You cannot have faith for something you haven't first dared to hope for.
If you cannot visualize your body well, your faith has no blueprint to build on. If you cannot imagine your marriage restored, your faith has no goal to secure. Hope is the vision of the future; faith is the power that makes it real in the present.
Many people try to squeeze out more faith while their hope tank is empty. They try to believe hard, but they are secretly expecting the worst. That doesn't work.
You need to sit down and let the Holy Spirit paint a picture of a good future in your heart. You need to see the end result. You need to let hope set the agenda so faith can pay the bill.
Faith is the engine, but hope is the steering wheel.
