Why smart people make bad choices

We often confuse education with wisdom.
Education is the accumulation of facts. It is the ability to retain knowledge and analyze data. It is valuable, but it is limited by human capacity. Wisdom is different. Wisdom is the ability to use knowledge. It is clarity that goes beyond your analytical mind.
1 Kings records that Solomon’s wisdom came from God, not a university.
This clarity does not originate in your brain. It comes from deeper within you.
The Hebrew word for wisdom is (chokhmah) חָכְמָה — “wisdom, skill, shrewdness”.
This wisdom sits in the inward parts. The Spirit of God lights the candle of your human spirit. That light shows up as a clear conviction or a lack of peace before you sign a contract. It speaks faster than your logic can process.
Your brain can weigh pros and cons, but your spirit recognizes truth deeper down. You do not have to rely solely on your own experience or education. You can tap into a resource from God.
When you learn to listen to that inward candle, you stop guessing and start seeing.
True insight comes when you listen to God's Spirit within you.
