The book of Ephesians has a very specific architecture.

The first three chapters tell you what you have. The last three chapters tell you what to do. The order matters. You are never told to "walk worthy" until you are first told how wealthy you are in Christ.

Paul uses a specific Greek word to describe our standing: (charitoo) χαριτόω — "highly favored."

This word is rare. It carries the weight of being surrounded by favor, permeated with grace, and made acceptable in the Beloved. The Holy Spirit selected a word that conveys deep, unshakeable value.

“To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.” Ephesians 1:6

If you try to walk out the Christian life without first understanding your wealth, you will burn out. Your behavior is meant to be an overflow of your identity.

When you know you are favored, you walk with your head high. When you know you are loved, you treat others with love.

We don't behave to belong; we belong, therefore we behave.
