Truth Known Is What Sets You Free

A Bible sits on a shelf in millions of homes. It holds the truth, and it sets no one free.
Jesus did not say the truth will set you free. He said something narrower.
The order matters. Knowing comes first. Freedom follows the knowing, not the printing.
This is why God filled the Old Testament with pictures. Paul says the events happened as examples.
Paul's word is (typos) τύπος — "type, pattern." A type is a visual aid. God did not hand Israel a lecture on the cross. He opened a sea, walked them through on dry ground, and let them see their enemies dead on the shore. He drew the lesson so they could know it.
A truth you have never looked at does not change your week. A truth you know does.
The truth was never the missing piece. Knowing it was.
