If a child has cancer, a parent doesn’t hate the child. They hate the disease ravaging the child.

That’s how God views sin.

“Sin brings forth death.” (James 1:15)

He hates what steals your peace and your future.
He hates what breaks you.
Because He loves you.

That’s why He couldn’t sweep sin under a carpet.
A righteous judge cannot wink at destruction.

So instead of ignoring sin, He absorbed it and judged it. He ended it at the body of His Son, Jesus Christ, not yours.

God’s wrath never lands on the child He loves. It lands on the cancer that harms them.
