Many Christians are confused about this and assume their old nature is still alive—
a sinful version of themselves they have to wrestle every day.

But nothing is further from the truth:

“Our old man was crucified with Him.”
Romans 6:6

Not “is being crucified.”
Not “needs to be crucified repeatedly.”
Was crucified.

The Greek word (syne-staurōthē) συνεσταυρώθη — “was co-crucified” means it happened once, decisively, in the past.

What remains today are patterns—memories of an old identity your mind hasn’t fully unlearned.

But your nature is new.
Your spirit is new.
Your standing is new.

You aren’t fighting an old self trying to resurrect.
You’re renewing a mind learning to keep up with what God already finished.

You’re not at war with who you were—you’re waking up to who you are.
