When some people preach the gospel, they start with everything wrong with humanity.
But Paul starts somewhere else.

“For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed…”
Romans 1:17

The gospel doesn’t spotlight your failures; it spotlights God’s provision.
Your sin explains why you need salvation.
But His righteousness explains how salvation is even possible.

One reveals the problem.
The other reveals the answer.

Think of it this way:
A flashlight doesn’t help you by showing more darkness.
It helps you by showing light.

The gospel is that light.

It reveals a righteousness you couldn’t earn, but God freely gives.
A righteousness Jesus lived, died, and rose to hand you.
A righteousness that doesn’t grow old, fade, or fluctuate.

When you hear the true gospel, you don’t walk away burdened — you walk away believing.

Because the gospel doesn’t magnify sin; it magnifies the Savior.

What you behold shapes who you become — so behold the righteousness God revealed, not the sin He removed.
