It seems like a noble instinct. The oxen stumbled. The Ark of God was about to fall. Uzzah reached out his hand to steady it.

And he died.

Why? Was God angry? No. But Uzzah made a fatal error that many of us make today. He thought God needed his help. He thought the glory of God was so fragile that it needed human strength to prop it up.

Uzzah means "Strength" (human strength). And human strength cannot mix with God's glory.

Compare him to Obed-Edom. David left the Ark at Obed-Edom's house for three months. Obed-Edom didn't try to carry it. He didn't try to steady it. He just hosted it.

And the Lord blessed Obed-Edom and his entire household. Everything he touched turned to gold. His crops, his family, and his household were blessed.

The lesson? Stop trying to steady God’s work in your life. Stop trying to "help" Him with your worry and your striving. Just host His presence. Let Jesus be the center of your home, and the blessing will follow effortlessly.
