Sinai vs. Zion

Many believers live their lives as if they are camping at the foot of the wrong mountain.
The Bible contrasts two spiritual locations: Mount Sinai and Mount Zion.
Mount Sinai is where the law was given. It is the place of distance, thunder, and trembling. It was so terrifying that even Moses, the friend of God, was shaken.
At Sinai, there is no mention of angels rejoicing. There is no mention of the assembly of the saints. It is a lonely, scary place of demand and judgment.
But you have moved.
God has moved the mountains, yet many of us are still mentally camped at Sinai, waiting for the lightning to strike. We live in fear of judgment when we have been invited into the city of celebration.
You are not at the mountain that burns. You are at the mountain that welcomes.
