The Emmaus disciples were discouraged,
and it wasn’t because they lacked faith.
It was because Jesus had become a side topic.

They said,
“We were hoping it was He who would redeem Israel.”
Luke 24:21

Israel was the center.
Jesus was the accessory.

It still happens today.
We use Jesus to fix a problem,
to reach a goal,
to improve a situation.

But Bible study is not about finding keys to success.
It’s about finding Christ.

When Jesus walked with them, the Scriptures opened.
Not to reveal strategies… but Himself.

“He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.”
Luke 24:27

When the Word becomes a window to Jesus,
discouragement loses its grip.

Life changes most when Jesus stops being useful and becomes central.
