Jesus: The Only Hero You Need

We live in a world full of heroes — movie heroes, comic heroes, public heroes.
But these heroes all keep a distance.
Up close, their flaws show.
Up close, the pedestal crumbles.
Jesus is different.
He lived with His disciples day and night.
Ate with them.
Walked with them.
Rested beside them.
The closer they got, the more His beauty showed.
“We beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
John 1:14
Most heroes want admiration from afar.
Jesus wants relationship up close.
Most heroes hide their weaknesses.
Jesus had none to hide.
Most heroes love crowds.
Jesus loves individuals — one voice, one story, one heart at a time.
You don’t have to reach Him through a screen or a pedestal.
You don’t have to impress Him to be near Him.
He is the Hero who comes close enough for you to hear His voice and close enough to carry your burdens.
