We were never meant to live out commands we were never equipped for.

The Gospel never starts with “Do.”
It starts with “Done.”

Before Paul says “Walk worthy,” he says:

“You are seated with Christ in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 2:6

Before God says “Forgive,” He says:

“Just as Christ forgave you.”
Ephesians 4:32

Before He says “Love,” He says:

“We love Him because He first loved us.”
1 John 4:19

The indicative tells you who you are.
The imperative tells you how to walk.
But the walk can never come before the identity.

Trying to obey without identity is like trying to run without breath.

The gospel never commands what it doesn’t first empower.
