We were never meant to live out commands we were never equipped for.

The Gospel never starts with “Do.”
It starts with “Done.”

Before Paul commands us to walk worthy, he writes:

“You are seated with Christ in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 2:6

Before Scripture commands us to forgive, it grounds the command:

“Just as Christ forgave you.”
Ephesians 4:32

Before John commands us to love, he states:

“We love Him because He first loved us.”
1 John 4:19

The indicative statements show who you are.
The imperatives command how you walk.
Your walk must always rest on your identity.

Trying to obey without identity is like trying to run without breath.

God never commands what He doesn’t first empower.
