Most people try to obey God by pushing themselves harder—more discipline, more effort, more sincerity.

But the truth is different:

“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.”
1 John 5:3

Why aren’t they burdensome?
Because the New Covenant doesn’t give commands the way Sinai did.
It gives commands the way a doctor does:
“Rest.”
“Eat.”
“Be still.”

Grace gives you the engine before it asks you to move.
It fills the cup before it asks you to pour.

Jesus said:

“As I have loved you, that you also love one another.”
John 13:34

You aren’t asked to generate love.
You’re asked to pass along what you’ve received.

When love stops being a requirement and becomes a response, obedience becomes light again.
