The first time Jesus refers to Himself as “Son of Man” in the Gospels is this verse.

“The Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”
Matthew 8:20

The One who created galaxies entered His own world as a stranger.
The One who owns everything chose to experience lack.
The One worthy of all honor was received with none.

His humility wasn’t an accident — it was part of the mission.

Paul describes it:
“He made Himself of no reputation… taking the form of a servant.”
Philippians 2:7

Before the crown came the homelessness.
Before the throne came the towel.
Before glory came rejection.

He walked the path downward so He could lift us upward.

The road to glory often begins with a place that feels beneath you.
