When we run away from our problems, we usually end up in the wrong place.

Elijah ran from Jezebel until he reached Mount Horeb (Sinai). This was the mountain of the Law. God had not told him to go there. He went there because he was driven by fear, not led by the Spirit.

He was hiding in a cave, miles away from his assignment.

And yet, God was there.

“And the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him, ‘What are you doing here, Elijah?’” 1 Kings 19:9

This question is deeply revealing. For God to ask, "What are you doing here?" implies that God had also come here.

God did not wait back in Israel for Elijah to return. He followed Elijah into the wilderness. He followed him into the cave. He followed him into his mistake.

Even when you run off the map, you cannot run off His radar. Even when your own fear drives you to a place of isolation and darkness, He walks into the cave with you to ask, "What are you doing here?"

He doesn't leave you in your error. He meets you there to guide you out.

You can never be so lost that He cannot find you.
