Law is demand. Grace is supply.

Imagine a parent who only places demands on their child: "Why can't you be better? Why are you angry? You need to change. You need to stop." That is the voice of the Law. It points out the flaw, but it gives no power to fix it.

Grace works differently. It supplies the identity needed to change the behavior. "I know you are better than this. I have seen your heart. You are a child of God, and you have the capacity to forgive."

When you operate under the Law, you are constantly withdrawing from a bank account you haven't deposited into. Eventually, you go bankrupt. When you operate under Grace, you receive the supply first: rest, wisdom, and forgiveness. Then, the behavior follows naturally.

If you find yourself short-tempered today, it is because you are short of grace. Stop trying to meet the demand. Go back to the Supply.

You cannot demand from your heart what you haven't supplied to your spirit.
