Jesus didn’t lecture the Emmaus disciples about morality or effort.
He spoke to something deeper:

“O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe…”
Luke 24:25

Two indictments.
Still true today.

Foolishness — not because they lacked intelligence,
but because they didn’t understand the Scriptures they already possessed.

Slowness to believe — not because they refused to trust,
but because their hearts dragged behind what their minds knew.

Most of our spiritual struggles fall into one of those two categories:
• we don’t know what God actually said, or
• we know it… but we hesitate to trust it.

Jesus fixed both problems the same way—
He opened the Scriptures.

He didn’t give them a pep talk.
He gave them clarity.

He didn’t hype their emotions.
He anchored them in truth.

Many spiritual battles aren’t won by trying harder, but by believing sooner.
