The Storehouse of the Firstborn

In the ancient Temple of Solomon, there were chambers attached to the main building where the priests lived. These weren't just living quarters; they were storehouses. The first floor was dedicated to three specific things: grain, wine, and oil.
These are not just agricultural products. They represent the "firstborn blessing"—the inheritance that God wants His people to crave.
When Isaac blessed Jacob, he spoke of an abundance that transcended the physical:
This is the Communion. The grain and the wine point us to the Lord’s Supper. It is the spiritual food that satisfies when the world’s distractions leave us empty.
Then there is the oil. In Scripture, oil represents the Holy Spirit—the power of God applied to our lives.
The oil is also a seal.
(sphragis) σφραγίς — "a seal, a signet, a mark of ownership and protection."
When something is sealed, it is protected from theft, injury, or being opened by the wrong hands. You are sealed with the Holy Spirit. This is your protection in a world that feels increasingly unsafe.
God is reviving these truths today because "grain, wine, and oil" cover every evil in the world. They are the symbols of a much deeper reality: that you are fed, you are remembered, and you are protected.
The seal is the sign of who you belong to.
