The Room David Never Opened

Most of us have a room in the heart we’d rather keep closed.
A place we don’t want touched, named, or examined.
David understood this too.
He brought almost everything to God — his fears, anger, injustice, disappointment, confusion, even his darkest emotions:
Psalm 13:1
Psalm 10:1
Whenever David opened his heart, God met him.
Whenever he voiced his burden, God lifted it.
But there is one area David never talked to God about
and it was the very area where he fell — sexual temptation.
We never see a psalm where David says:
“Lord, I’m struggling here.”
“Lord, strengthen me in this area.”
“Lord, guard my heart and eyes.”
Not once.
And it became the place where unchecked desire led to a downward spiral with Bathsheba.
Not because God withheld help —
but because David never invited Him into that space.
This isn’t condemnation.
It’s an encouragement:
Any area you bring to God becomes a place of strength.
Any area you hide tends to remain a place of struggle.
You don’t need perfect words.
You don’t need polished prayers.
Just openness.
Because God heals not only because He knows,
but because you let Him carry what you bring to Him.
The room you’re afraid to open is often the room where God wants to bring the most freedom.
