Stop Overthinking God’s Voice

Some people make hearing God complicated.
Five steps.
Three lights.
Inner traffic signals.
Jesus says:
“My sheep hear My voice.”
(John 10:27, NKJV)
A child doesn’t study the mother’s voice.
They recognize it because they belong.
You don’t hear God because you’re mature.
You hear Him because you’re His.
And when the voice inside lifts you, encourages you, leads you toward hope rather than shame — that aligns with the Spirit’s work:
“He will give you another Helper…” (John 14:16)
“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit…” (Romans 8:16)
The inner witness isn’t dramatic.
It’s familiar.
Quiet but clear.
Not pushy, not condemning, never manipulative.
And when something scratches inside — that unsettled feeling — pay attention.
The Spirit also guards.
God’s voice is not a mystery to solve but more of a presence you already know.
