Jesus Calls You Family, Not Servants or Strangers

When the woman with the issue of blood touched Jesus, she wasn’t trying to be noticed.
She was trying not to be.
But Jesus turned, looked at her, and spoke a single word that revealed the heart of God:
“Daughter.”
The Greek word is θυγάτηρ — “daughter, cherished child.”
He didn’t call her “woman.”
He didn’t call her “believer.”
He called her family.
“But Jesus, turning around… said, ‘Daughter, be of good comfort; your faith has made you well.’”
Matthew 9:22
This is the opposite of a benefactor’s tone — someone high giving to someone low.
This is the tone of belonging.
Of intimacy.
Of identity restored.
Jesus doesn’t relate to you from a distance.
He draws you close.
He names you with affection.
He claims you as His own.
And when you know you’re family, you stop approaching God like a guest trying not to make a mistake.
You approach Him like someone who belongs in the room.
