Beyond the Applause

In ancient Athens, moneychangers had to deal with coins that were "whittled" down—people would shave off the edges of the soft metal to steal a little value. The moneychangers who refused these coins were called dokimos—men of integrity and tested approvedness.
This "approval" isn't about salvation; you are already highly favored in Christ. This is about your service. It’s about being a workman of integrity.
A servant of integrity doesn't make a beeline for the wealthy or the famous. They treat the rich and the poor exactly the same because they see everyone through the lens of Christ. They don't serve to be seen by men; they serve because they are already seen by God.
When you serve with a "checked heart," you don't need the applause of the crowd to keep going. Your "thank you" comes from a higher place.
Integrity is what you do when the only person watching is the One you’re serving.
